Regular Education routes carry students to/from their schools of attendance. Students may range in age from 4 to 22 years old. 2.3.1 A-H Schools serves approximately 30,000 general education students at 25 elementary sites, 7 middle school sites, 5 high schools, 3 alternative schools, 1 career and technical site, 10 non-public sites, 1 charter school, and is part of the Northwest Suburban Integration School District (NWSISD). 2.3.2 A-H Schools primarily operates a three (3) tier system with an average number of live-time hours at approximately four and three quarters (4.75) hours per day. Live-time rates will be established based on a categorical fleet average totaling five (5) hours per day, which can be split in any manner necessary to meet the district’s schedule. See Appendix 1 for bell times and school locations. See Appendix 13 for school year 2024-25 route statistics. 2.3.3 A-H Schools routes are designed to accommodate 77 passenger school buses. Responsible bidders will quote on regular education buses with a minimum of 77 passengers. 2.3.4 All buses of the same size category will be quoted under one cost irrespective of additional equipment (e.g. 5-hour base: Bus Types A, B/C, D, III). Added equipment, like wheelchair lifts, will be cost separately on a per bus, per day additional rate. 2.3.5 If the district is unable to pair a morning route with an afternoon route, resulting in a route that is only running a “half-day,” the daily cost will be set at 60% of the regular full-day rate...
