The City entered into agreements with Police Facility Design Group, PA (PFDG) and Crawford Murphy Tilly Inc. (CMT) to complete the architectural design (PFDG) and the site civil design (CMT) for the new facility. Phase 1A This phase involved the excavation of an existing borrow pit onsite that formed a retention pond area for storm water conveyance for the project. The material was utilized to raise the structure pads throughout the site 2’ above the floodplain base flood elevation. A berm was also constructed as well as utilities necessary for the conveyance of stormwater. Excess material remains onsite in stockpiles. This phase has been completed as of August, 2024. Phase 1B This phase provides for the construction of the 200 yd shooting range and a rock access road into the site (that will eventually become the permanent roadway) to the shooting range. This phase also included the main site power installation through Ameren Electric who services this property. That install includes connectivity from the power source along Hwy 79 to the site utility transformer, the electric meter, CT cabinet, and main distribution panel that can be used for future connectivity to the structures. Notice to Proceed was issued in July, 2024 with an anticipated complete by January 2025.
