The Department of Social Services has contract CS190232001 with Epworth Children & Family Services, Inc. for the Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood. In order to better serve referred youth in Missouri, the DSS is diligently working on significant revisions to contract requirements for the new RFP that will replace the existing contracts. The DSS requires additional bid lead time to ensure the new contract requirements will effectively fulfill the DSS purpose and to attract a strong vendor base capable of executing the Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood for Missouri referred youth. It is imperative that contract CS190232001 continue providing services under the Chafee Foster Care Program to referred youth in Missouri. The one-year extension of CS190232001 will allow sufficient time for the DSS to revamp the Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood requirements. For the reasons identified above, Epworth Children and Family Services, Inc. is the only feasible source from which to acquire the Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood services, specifically for the St. Louis County/St. Louis City Region. As a result, this meets the criteria as a single feasible source under section 34.044 RSMo.
