The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) seeks consulting services to complete the Historic Downtown Platte City and Courthouse Square for the City of Platte City, Missouri. The Downtown Platte City and Courthouse Square project aims to develop a long-term vision for the project area between MO 92, North Street, 1st Street, and 4th Street. The historic Platte County Courthouse was built in 1867 and continues to be an activity center for all county services. This downtown plan will develop a comprehensive vision and implementation options for infrastructure in the Courthouse Square and the downtown business district including street and sidewalk improvements, traffic flow improvements, streetscape landscaping and greenery, higher efficiency street lights and event lighting, street and traffic flow improvements connecting downtown to broader city sidewalk and street system, location and improvement alternatives to rebuild of JW Lewis Park to support downtown area and surrounding residential conservation zoning district, identify alternative ideas and implementation options to increase availability of housing options in the downtown business district and adjacent commercial conservation district and residential conservation district, and identify transportation alternatives to connect the courthouse to the KCATA transit system.
