5.1 Overview The County needs rock salt to be hauled and delivered to specified locations within St. Louis County. The rock salt is delivered to the region via barge from the specified Mississippi River terminals. 5.2 Equipment and Schedule 5.2.1 Trucks must be available to haul from the specified locations within 24 hours from the time of notification, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, including holidays. 5.2.2 The number of trucks required to unload barges is estimated to be between 10 and 20 trucks. 5.2.3 Contractor must be able to provide sufficient trucks to haul approximately 1,700 tons of salt to locations specified within an 8-hour period. 5.2.4 It is the contractor’s responsibility to verify that their trucks can negotiate each location prior to submitting a bid for this work. 5.2.5 Post award, the contractor will be required to submit a list of all equipment available to be used in the performance of the work.
