Description: The Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) requires to extend contract CS221769001 to deliver the new Mental Health First Aid Training Services Related to COVID-19 Health Disparities, under the federal grant entitled “National Initiative to Address COVID-19 Health Disparities Among Populations at High-Risk and Underserved, Including Racial and Ethnic Minority Populations and Rural Communities.” A T Still University of Health Sciences (ATSU) administers the federal grant funding, on behalf of the statewide Missouri Area Health Education Centers (MAHEC) network. MAHEC is the only network in Missouri that operates via a decentralized delivery model, made up of seven regional centers, in order to provide services designed to address and improve the mental health status of youth in rural and minority communities impacted by COVID-19. As the only network in Missouri that operates via a decentralized delivery model for the seven regional centers, MAHEC and ATSU are the only sources that can execute, implement, and achieve the deliverables associated with the grant requirements. Additionally, MAHEC and ATSU are the only sources fully equipped to yield results to satisfy the grant requirements.
