2.1.1 The contractor shall provide prescribed burning and cedar and invasive species removal, selective forest thinning for the Department of Natural Resources, Natural Resources Damage and Assessment Division in accordance with the provisions and requirements stated herein and to the sole satisfaction of the state agency. 2.1.2 The contractor shall provide approximately 118 acres of cedar and invasive species removal,selective forest thinning targeting eastern red cedars, Amur honeysuckle, Japanese honeysuckle, autumn olive, and Chinese privet to achieve the desired habitat types below: a. Approximately 3 acres of targeted cedar and invasive species removal on the existing dolomite glade to reduce encroachment by woody species (“Glade” in Attachment 3). b. Approximately 15 acres of invasive species removal, woody stem removal, and selective thinning, to provide opportunities for glade expansion as appropriate (“Glade Expansion” in Attachment 3). c. Approximately 50 acres of selective thinning and invasive species removal in the dolomite woodlands to open the understory and shrub layer and encourage native herbaceous ground flora (“Woodland” in Attachment 3). d. Approximately 50 acres of heavy cedar removal in the cedar old fields to return these areas to opencanopied woodlands dominated by fire-tolerant species (“Cedar Old Fields” in Attachment 3). e. The cedar and invasive species removal and selective forest thinning (Line 1, Exhibit C, Pricing Page) must not exceed $75,000.00 and may be awarded separately.
