Sedalia Water Well # 7 is located at 28200 Waterworks Road in Sedalia, Missouri. This well was originally drilled in 1905 to a depth of 460 ft. and contains 200 ft. of 12 in. casing. As this is a public water supply well, plugging must be completed by a permitted Missouri well or pump installation contractor. (10 CSR 23-3.110 (2)(C)). The following steps shall be followed to plug this well: -Remove all materials (including pumps and pipes), debris and obstructions that may interfere with plugging operations from the well. -Cut the well casing off at 3 ft. below ground surface. Excavate around the casing at least 2 ft. in diameter larger than the outermost casing. -Fill the well completely with neat cement grout to at least 2 ft. below ground surface using the tremie or reverse tremie method. If there is less than 100 ft. of standing water the gravity method can be used. -Fill the remaining area with clean fill. -Submit a well plugging registration record to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources within 60 days after plugging has been completed.
