The State of Missouri intends to award a contract to Knowledge Management Associates / Missouri Connections for Health for the provision of the continuation of State Health Insurance Information, Counseling and Assistance Services for the Department of Commerce and Insurance (DCI). DCI has received additional funding for state health insurance information, counseling and assistance services through a National Council on Aging (NCOA) grant, which is effective January 1, 2025 through August 31, 2025. However, due to ongoing budgetary issues, the federal government has only been able to issue partial awards for some of the funding for this contract. Due to these issues, it is uncertain if the funds will be available or to what measure, making it difficult for a different contractor to perform these services. Due to the uncertainty of the awards made by the federal government it is imperative that the current contractor continue to provide the services for an additional twelve (12) month period so there is not a lapse in these services, as this could negatively impact the department and state employees who receive these benefits.
