Summary of Specifications:
Sealed proposals to provide services for Cooperative Fire Apparatus will be received by the Brighton Area Fire Authority at Station 31, 615 W. Grand River Ave., Brighton, MI 48116 until July 6 at 1:30 pm, after which time they will be publicly opened at 2:00 pm and read in the Fire Department offices.
The purpose of this REQUEST FOR BIDS (RFB) is to solicit for Cooperative Fire Apparatus by the Brighton Area Fire Department (BAFD) on behalf of several municipalities as part of a cooperative apparatus purchase.
The following communities are soliciting Bids for various fire department apparatus with the intent of working cooperatively together. Within this document, here in after, the term “Municipalities” refers to The Cooperative Apparatus Purchase Group which is based on individual communities:
Brighton Area Fire Authority Clearwater Township Fire Department City of Birmingham Fire Department City of Troy Fire Department Hartland Deerfield Fire Authority Grand Blanc Township Fire Department
INTENT The intent of this request for bid as a cooperative purchase for fire apparatus is to leverage the benefits of a large scale purchase amongst several municipalities. Due to the nature of multiple communities every attempt will be made by each community to purchase based on these specifications and return bids.
It must be noted that this RFB is not binding and each municipality must individually approve their purchase by their purchasing process which may include approval from an elected board. Our intent is for each community to purchase within 90 days from the opening of bids, although it may not be possible due to unforeseen complications. A municipality may elect to not purchase under this request for bid.
Therefore once the bid’s are tallied, the community will work directly with the vendor for purchasing. The contract will be directly between the vendor and the respective municipality.
