Summary of Specifications:
In order to provide Clinton Township with contractors and subcontractors who will carry out the work in a timely and satisfactory manner, an approved prequalification for sanitary sewer televising and cleaning must be on file with the Township prior to the bid opening. The qualifications for the general contractor and all subcontractors to be used on the project will be reviewed on the basis of the proposed bidder’s past performance on work of a similar nature for Clinton Township and other owners. Contact Giffels Webster to obtain submittal requirements for all prequalification categories The Contractor shall furnish all materials and provide all labor and equipment necessary and incidental to complete the Work as set forth in this invitation in accordance with the Charter Township of Clinton standards. These principal items include, but are not limited to: 1. Cleaning and televising of approximately 175,800 LF of sanitary sewer (6” to 24”) within Zone 6 of Clinton Township. Specifications will be available on the internet through the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN - www.govbids.com) or can be viewed or obtained at the office of ARC, 1009 West Maple Road, Clawson, MI 48017 after 3:00 PM on Monday, August 4th, 2014. Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided by the Owner and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Charter Township of Clinton for an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid price. An Insurance Acord meeting the requirements in the bid documents shall be submitted by all bidders. The accepted bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond, and labor and material bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price, the cost of the bonds will be paid by the accepted bidder. Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the Owner and their respective Employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid. The Charter Township of Clinton reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, and award the project contained in this request when such action is in the interest of the Charter Township of Clinton, and to award the contract to other than the low bidder. Bids shall remain firm for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) days. The project shall commence immediately following a notice of award per these contract documents.
