The Ann Arbor Fire Station 4 project is a 12,000 square foot, 2-story, fire station construction project to replace the existing outdated facility. The Ann Arbor Fire Station 4 project includes
demolition work and has been designed to achieve a net zero energy consumption rating calculated on an annualized basis. Under this basis of calculation, the goal of this project is that the building would supply more energy than it would consume within a given year. A photovoltaic array on the roof of the building will generate electrical energy and the excess would be supplied to the electrical grid. The building will be fully electrified. Energy consumption will be reduced using ground source heat pumps tied to a geothermal field and an efficient building envelope.

A mandatory pre-proposal conference for this project will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. (local time) in the basement conference room of City of Ann Arbor – City Hall, 301 East Huron, Ann Arbor, 48104. Failure to attend the meeting and sign the RFP sign-in sheet at the pre-proposal meeting will automatically disqualify a bidder from submitting a valid proposal. Any proposal submitted by a party not attending and signing the roster at the pre-proposal meeting will not be opened or considered. Administrative and technical questions regarding this project will be answered at this time. The pre-proposal meeting is for information only. Any answers furnished will not be official until verified in writing by the Financial Service Area, Procurement Unit. Answers that change or substantially clarify the proposal will be affirmed in an addendum.
