BDPS-18-002 - Public Safety Fire Hall Expansion/Renovation

The City of Berkley will utilize a qualifications based selection process to secure a firm for
Design / build construction management services. The evaluation criteria will be based upon the requirements stated below. Only those firms that meet the cities selection criteria will be invited for interviews and submittal of pricing proposals.  This project is currently funded and can begin immediately.

The project will include but not be limited to the following:
Fire Hall

1. Extend all fire hall apparatus bays 10’ out to the north.
2. Replace existing (3) overhead bay doors with glass or partial glass overhead bay doors.
3. Replace entry door on west wall.
4. Install second similar entry door on west wall near northwest corner (exact location TBD).
5. Clean and prep walls and ceiling.
6. Paint walls and ceiling (color TBD).
7. Clean / prep / epoxy fire apparatus bay floors (color TBD).
8. Install / Paint apparatus guide lines on bay floors (color and locations TBD).
9. Extend Plymovent system to west apparatus bay.
10. Relocate fire bay hanging heaters and plumbing.
11. Install LED bay lighting (interior)
12. Install exterior lighting over bays and west wall entry doors.
13. Install (3) retractable hose reels for vehicle washing (location TBD).
14. Install electrical outlets.
15. Install new 220 electrical circuit (for air compressor; location TBD).
16. Install new 220 electrical circuit for towel dryer.
17. Additional items may be added after review from design team.
