Summary of Specifications:
Sealed proposals endorsed 2009 Sidewalk And Concrete Repair Program, Contract #6-09(SW), Birmingham, Michigan" will be received from contractors at the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Birmingham, Michigan, until 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 22, 2009.
The contract will cover work during the 2009 construction season. The project will consist of replacing approximately 47,000 sq.ft. of concrete sidewalk, approximately 300 ft. of concrete curb and gutter, and approximately 600 sq.yd. of concrete pavement in various locations throughout the City, plus other miscellaneous work to make a complete project.
Bidding documents may be obtained after 12:00 PM on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 through the City of Birmingham Engineering Department, located at 151 Martin Street, Birmingham, MI 48102 (248-530-1840). Complete sets of bidding documents may be obtained for a nonrefundable fee of $25.00 each if picked up from the above location, $35 if mailed. Bidding documents may also be sent in PDF format by email or mailed on disc for $10.00. Payment shall be in the form of a check made payable to the City of Birmingham, which must be received prior to mailing of plans and specifications. Bidding documents may also be shipped by Federal Express, upon receipt of the $25.00 payment noted above, and a Federal Express number to charge shipping costs to.
Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount of not less than five (5) percent of the total price of the bid, payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Birmingham.
The successful bidder will be required to post bonds and to comply with the City Charter respecting contracts.
The City Commission reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any informality in the proposal received, and to accept any proposal which it shall deem to be most favorable to the interests of the City.
