Summary of Specifications:
The City of Birmingham, Michigan, is requesting a Letter of Interest including a brief project description for the redevelopment or reuse of a small portion of the Barnum property site located at 746 Purdy. The Barnum property is an 8.32 acre site. The proposal endorsed “Barnum Property Letter of Interest, January 5, 2006” will be received at the office of the Staff and Services Manager for the Department of Public Services, 851 S. Eton Road, Birmingham, Michigan 48009, until 5:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2006.
The Ad Hoc Barnum Property Committee is soliciting conceptual proposals of about one acre of land extending approximately 325 feet south and 150 feet west from the intersection of Frank and Purdy Streets. This part of the Barnum site includes only a portion of the existing building, namely the original 1912 structure and a portion of the 1929 addition which fronts on Purdy. All proposals received by the deadline shall be submitted to the Ad Hoc Barnum Property Committee for review.
It is the intention of the City of Birmingham in receiving conceptual proposals for this site to serve only as what level of interest exists and what ideas are available in order to examine the best uses of the Barnum property.
