Sealed proposals endorsed “BIRD AVENUE PHASE 1A PROJECT - Contract # 7-25(W)” will be received from contractors by the City of Birmingham, at the office of the City Clerk, located at 151 Martin Street, Birmingham, Michigan, until 2:30 P.M. local time, on Thursday, March 20th, 2025. The proposals will be opened and publicly read aloud at that time. Bids submitted after the exact time specified for receipt will not be considered.
General Description of Work: This project includes installation of new and/or replacement storm, sanitary, and combined sewers, water main, and pavements within the work area.
Major work items include: approximatley 1,600 linear feet of mainline sewer installation; 560 linear feet of CIPP sewer lining; 640 linear feet of sanitary service replacement; 1,200 linear feet of new water main; 500 linear feet of water service replacement; 4,300 square yards of pavement removal and replacement with new concrete pavement; 170 linear feet of new concrete curb and gutter; 250 square yards of new concrete driveway approaches; 2,300 square feet of new concrete sidewalks; 1,150 square yards of lawn restoration; and other items to make a complete project.
Bidders shall review and comply with all Contract Documents, and supplemental information, as defined in the Information For Bidders.
Bidding documents for this project must be obtained electronically through the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network (MITN), which may be accessed at https://www.bidnetdirect.com/mitn. Vendors wishing to obtain copies of the bidding documents will need to register through the MITN website. Electronic versions of bidding documents will be posted to MITN starting Thursday, Frebruary 27th, 2025.
The successful bidder shall be required to post bonds, and to comply with the contract requirements of the City Charter. Bids are firm, and no bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after opening of bids.
Procurement for the City of Birmingham will be handled in a manner providing fair opportunity for all businesses. This will be accomplished without abrogation or sacrifice of quality and as determined to be in the best interest of the City of Birmingham. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals, to waive any irregularity in any of the bid proposals submitted, and to accept any proposal which it shall deem to be the most favorable to the interest of the City.
A certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid must accompany each bid proposal.
