Sealed proposals endorsed “MACC/Indigent Defense Program,” will be received at the
City of Birmingham, 151 Martin Street, Birmingham, MI 48009 in the Clerk’s Office; until
August 31, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., after which time bids will be publicly opened and read.
Bidders will be required to have a law degree and licensed to practice law in
Michigan and a member in good standing with the Michigan Bar Association, have
at least five years of experience practicing law, thorough knowledge of Michigan
criminal law and defense procedures, and a valid Michigan driver's license.
The City of Birmingham as Lead Community for the 48th District Court, to operate the
Indigent Defense Program, is accepting sealed bid proposals from qualified professionals
to be the Managed Assigned Counsel Coordinator (MACC) to operate the defense
program to ensure that indigent defendants receive competent legal representation in
criminal proceedings. This is an independent contract position funded by the Michigan
Indigent Defense Commission. This position is not eligible for Court benefits. This work
must be performed as specified accordance with the specifications contained in the
Request For Proposals (RFP).

The acceptance of any proposal made pursuant to this invitation shall not be binding upon
the City as Lead Community until an agreement has been executed.
