Important Note to Vendors:
Below are the specifications for sidewalk power washing in the Principal Shopping District, City of Birmingham.
1. If chemicals are used during the power washing, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDA) must accompany the bid.
2. Contractor must provide certificate of insurance for the following coverage’s and amounts.
a. General Liability Coverage $1,000,000 b. Motor Vehicle Liability Coverage $1,000,000 c. Workers Compensation Insurance
3. Power wash all gum and surface residue i.e. pop or coffee from listed sidewalks. The City understands that gum shadows will remain after gum is removed.
4. Power washing will be preformed between the hours of 3am and 8am EXCEPT coffee shop areas must be completed before 6 am.
5. The contractor is permitted to use specified fire hydrants as a source of water. Contractor is not permitted to use private hose bibs as a source of water. Contractor must obtain a permit from Fire Chief at the Adams Fire Station Monday – Friday 8 AM – 5 PM.
6. Any damage to windows, entry and/or exit doors, building exteriors, water under doors, painted surfaces, sidewalk decorations, plant material and business signs of commercial establishments will be the responsibility of the contractor. Payment from the City will be withheld until restitution has been made.
7. Weather permitting work shall be completed within five (5) business days from the start date.
