Summary of Specifications:
The Board of Trustees of the City of Ferndale Police and Fire Retirement System ("Board of Trustees") is vested with the authority and fiduciary responsibility for the administration, management and operation of the Retirement System. The Board of Trustees is required to appoint a physician as Medical Diretor who is not eligible to participate in the Retirement System as a member nor as a beneficiary. The Medical Director shall: (1)be directly responsible to and hold office at the pleasure of the Board of Trustees; (2)arrange for and pass upon all medical examinations required under the provisions of the Retiremetn System; (3)investigate all essential statements and certificates of a medical nature by or on behalf of a member, or other claimant, in connection with any application for disability retirement, or death in line of duty benefits; and (4)report in writing to the Board of Trustees his/her conclusions and recommendations.
