Individual Contractor and Architect/Engineer submittals will not be accepted. 3. The Required items must be met to propose for this project. The project consists of the following parts: 1. Design and Construct a new two story (with Basement) Courthouse to the East of the Ferndale City Hall of approximately 13,000 square feet: 2. Design and Renovate the Existing Police Station. A small addition is required to meet space needs total square footage of approximately 9,400 existing and 1,800 addition 3. Design and renovate the existing City Hall. Square footage is approximately 14,200 The following additional items will be required as part of the Design/Build Turnkey Project: • System furniture and high density files purchase and installation • Telephone/data and security design and installation • Video arraignment, A/V, and video conferencing • Commissioning The current project Goals are defined as follows and may change due to budget or timing: 1. LEED Silver Building 2. Materials, Character and Context of the building is to follow the City of Ferndale Guidelines. The intent is for the building to complement the existing City and Police station and the urban character of the City. A traditional exterior design for the courthouse will not meet the requirements. Schedule: • Design/Build Package (subject to change) RFQ’s out for response June 17, 2009 RFQ’s due July 2, 2009 Design/Build out for Bids August 6, 2009 Bids Due September 3, 2009 Award October 2009 Construction complete- Courthouse March 2011 Renovation complete – Police November 2011 Renovation complete- City Hall March 2012 Total Preliminary Project Costs (including professional fees, FF&E, and technology) range between $7,800,000.00 to $8,600,000.00 and the scope and budget may decrease based on the City’s ability to finance project components.
