FIRE DEPARTMENT RENOVATIONS
The City of Garden City is accepting proposals for the
FIRE DEPARTMENT RENOVATIONS
in the City of Garden City, Wayne County, Michigan
The proposed project consists of several additions to the existing building along with ADA renovations to the existing restroom facilities at Garden City Fire Department. This will include selective demolition and reconstruction of concrete block exterior and interior walls, new plumbing fixtures and flooring with the replacement of the existing roof of the entire building. The anticipated start date is July 29, 2022 and substantially completed by December 30, 2022 with final completion by January 30, 2023. The Truck Bay addition must be completed to store existing vehicles in a heated space before inclement weather.

The Contract Documents may be examined at the City of Garden City Clerk’s Office, Garden City, Michigan, Hennessey Engineers, Inc., Southgate, Michigan, Construction Association of Michigan, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Construction News Service, Oakbrook, Illinois and Construction News Corp, Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Documents will be available starting Wednesday, June 29, 2022 after 1:00pm and may be purchased at: Hennessey Engineers, Inc., 13500 Reeck Road, Southgate, Michigan, 48195 upon payment (cash or check only) of a fee of $60.00 per set, $75.00 if mailed, which is nonrefundable. Also, plans are available on CD for a fee of $10.00 per CD or if mailed, $20.00.
A pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2022 at 2:00pm at the Garden City Fire Department next to City Hall, 6000 Middlebelt Road. This meeting is NOT mandatory; how it is strongly encouraged that all prospective bidders attend.
Bidders must deposit, with their bid, surety in the form of a certified check, bank draft, or bid bond, in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposal. The OWNER reserves the right to waive any information or to reject any and/or all bids. Bidders may not withdraw their bid within 60 days after the date of bid opened.
