07252024001 - PHASE 2 RELIEF SEWERS: FLOW MONITORING AND HYDRAULIC MODELING

The City of Hamtramck (the City), through this Request for QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ), is soliciting 
professional engineering services for the Phase 2 Relief Sewers: Flow Monitoring and Hydraulic 
Modeling Project. Services requested by this RFQ include wastewater flow monitoring, hydraulic 
computer modeling services, and planning for right-sizing basement backup mitigation measures
in the north-central portion of the City as defined in this RFQ. The basement backup mitigation 
measures will likely consist of relief sewers, overflow structures, and junction chambers that will 
eventually be designed and constructed to collect and transport wastewater to existing 
interceptor sewers. Preliminary design, final design, and construction phase services will be 
completed under a separate or modified agreement and are not included in this RFQ.

A Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) grant was recently awarded to the City by the U.S. 
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). A QUALIFICATIONS Based Selection (QBS) 
process is being used for the evaluation and selection of the professional engineering firm/team 
for the scope of services described in this RFQ
