The 2022-2024 DWRF Watermain Replacement Program consists of 4 Projects. Projects selected to be constructed will be selected after bids are opened. The Oakwood Boulevard and Coleman Street Projects are to be constructed in 2022. The Roberts Street Project is to be constructed in 2023. The Henry Street Project is to be constructed in 2024. These will be bid all as one package under one contract, with plans for each project and one overall spec book. Award will be made to the lowest Contract Total (total cost of all four projects).
The proposed Oakwood Boulevard project consists of approximately 2,470 linear feet of 12” directional drill and 360 linear feet of 12” open cut to replace an existing 8” water main along Oakwood Boulevard, between Allen Road and Elizabeth Street, within the City of Melvindale. The anticipated start date, weather permitting, is no later than July 19, 2022 and substantially completed by October 14, 2022 with final completion by October 28, 2022.
The proposed Coleman Street project consists of approximately 270 linear feet of 8” directional drill and 40 linear feet of 8” open cut water main along Coleman Street, between Ruth Street and Reed Street, within the City of Melvindale. The anticipated start date, weather permitting, is no later than July 19, 2022 and substantially completed by October 14, 2022 with final completion by October 28, 2022.
The proposed Robert Street project consists of approximately 3,810 linear feet of 8” directional drill and 400 linear feet of open cut to replace an existing 6” water main along Robert Street, between Oakwood Boulevard and South Dearborn Street, within the City of Melvindale. The anticipated start date, weather permitting, is no later than April 15, 2023 and substantially completed by June 15, 2023 with final completion by June 30, 2023.
The proposed Henry Street project consists of approximately 4,080 linear feet of 8” directional drill and 590 linear feet of 8” open cut to replace an existing 6” water main along Henry Street, between Oakwood Boulevard and South Dearborn Street, within the City of Melvindale. The anticipated start date, weather permitting, is no later than April 15, 2024 and substantially completed by June 15, 2024 with final completion by June 30, 2024.
There will be an optional pre-bid meeting on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am (EST). This meeting will be held virtually.
