Sealed proposals for the construction of: 2020 CONCRETE PAVING PROGRAM will be received, through electronic submission to the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) until 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, Thursday the 21st day of May, 2020. The bids will be publicly unlocked from the MITN web site with bid total and other pertinent information read aloud at 11:00 A.M. the same day via Zoom teleconference. Bidders desiring to attend this opening should email edward.sell@monroemi.gov no later than Friday, May `15 to be emailed the meeting link. This contract shall consist of reconstruction of various roadways and alleyways within the City, including pavement removal, earthwork, storm sewer and storm lead installation, installation of new concrete pavement, and other related activities. At one location the City desires to install sidewalks where none presently exist within one residential subdivision.
The Proposal and Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, may be obtained from the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) / Bid Net Direct at https://www.bidnetdirect.com/mitn. Any questions on this contract / bid documents should be asked on the MITN site no later than May 11, to provide adequate time for preparation of an Addendum, if necessary.
Bidders should note that City offices are presently closed to the public due to the COVID-19 outbreak through at least May 18, therefore bidders should expect that any other necessary correspondence must be via email. The City of Monroe reserves the right to accept any proposal, to reject any proposal or to waive defects in proposals. A bid bond or certified check made payable to the City of Monroe in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid must be posted by each bidder with his / her bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid within SIXTY (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, but may withdraw it at any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipts of bids.
