Sealed proposals for the construction of:
2021 SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROGRAM
will be received, through electronic submission, to the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) until 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, Monday the 24th day of May, 2021. The bids will be publicly unlocked from the MITN web site with bid total and other pertinent information read aloud at 11:00 A.M. the same day via Zoom teleconference. Bidders desiring to attend this opening should email edward.sell@monroemi.gov no later than Wednesday, May 19 to obtain the meeting link.
This project consists of sidewalk and other concrete replacement within the City limits within the designated “program area” such that the majority of work will be performed in a concentrated geographic area, though there are also some scattered sites within the City limits where complaints have been brought to the City’s attention during the past year. In addition, in order to address utility breaks and other service work, there may be some additional locations outside of the City limits within the City’s Water and Sanitary Sewer Utility Service Area where spot replacements will be required, and additional locations may be included after contract award based on continuing needs and new utility breaks and complaints that are brought to the City’s attention.
The Proposal and Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, may be obtained from the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) / Bid Net Direct at https://www.bidnetdirect.com/mitn. Any questions on this contract / bid documents should be asked in writing (email) no later than Monday, May 17, 2021 at 4:30 P.M., to provide adequate time for preparation of an Addendum, if necessary. Should an addendum be necessary, this is intended for publication by the close of business on Thursday, May 20, 2021. Bidders shall note that Prevailing Wage provisions apply to this contract, and are contained within Division J of the contract.
The City of Monroe reserves the right to accept any proposal, to reject any proposal or to waive defects in proposals. A bid bond or certified check made payable to the City of Monroe in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid must be posted by each bidder with his / her bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid within SIXTY (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, but may withdraw it at any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipts of bids.
