Sealed proposals for the construction of: US-24 TRAFFIC SIGNAL REPLACEMENT will be received, through electronic submission to the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) until 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, Monday the 8th day of February, 2021. The bids will be publicly unlocked from the MITN web site with bid total and other pertinent information read aloud at 11:00 A.M. the same day via Zoom teleconference. Bidders desiring to attend this opening should email edward.sell@monroemi.gov no later than Wednesday, February 3 to obtain the meeting link. This contract consists of the replacement of the existing traffic signal with all associated work at the intersection of US-24 (North Telegraph Road) and Holiday Drive necessary to support redevelopment of the former La-Z-Boy World Headquarters. Intersection and roadway modifications including construction of a northbound deceleration lane, ADA-compliant ramps, and associated roadway and drainage items have been awarded through a separate contract in 2020, with some of such work still pending completion of the signal work.

There is no pre-bid meeting, and bidders may access the location at any time for use in preparing their bids. Bidders shall note that Prevailing Wage provisions apply to this contract, and are contained within Division J of the contract.
The City of Monroe reserves the right to accept any proposal, to reject any proposal or to waive defects in proposals. A bid bond or certified check made payable to the City of Monroe in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid must be posted by each bidder with his / her bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid within SIXTY (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, but may withdraw it at any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipts of bids.
