The City seeks a qualified and experienced firm to assist with developing an overall signage plan and design for the City’s Park system. The signage should complement and integrate some main characteristics of the City’s Gateways and Streetscapes Master Plan with consideration of the holistic system and the unique vibes of each park. The planning should inventory all existing signs and maps in the parks. It should consider design priority, information hierarchy, information management and flow, sign types, graphic standards, aesthetic standards, branding, materials and finish to create a comprehensive and balanced solution. The graphic standards should maintain a consistent brand, look, feel and quality including proportions, color schemes, fonts, images, and text. Signage types are as follows:
- Vehicle Wayfinding
- Pedestrian Wayfinding
- Park Facility ID signage
- Park Map Kiosk
- Park Rules
- Trail Wayfinding Signage
- Interpretive Signs
The design phase should bring all the sign planning to life creating a design rooted in the understanding of the purpose, the audience, and the required outcomes. All through the critical lens of time, budget, and resource utilization. Design services should be interactive and collaborative with submission of incremental milestones and implementation of feedback. Designs, addressed individually or collectively, should be categorized into content, graphics, and 3D design renderings, as well as isometric 3D maps for all parks.
