Summary of Specifications:
The City of Southfield, Oakland County, Michigan, will receive bids at the office of the City Clerk, 26000 Evergreen Road, P.O. Box 2055, Southfield, Michigan, 48037-2055 up to 10:30 a.m., and Local Time on July 29, 2010, for the Beech Woods Greening Project – Phase 1 requiring the following work: 1. Mobilization 2. Demolition of existing paved parking lot 3. Installation of permeable paver parking lot and accessories 4. Installation of concrete paths 5. Installation of asphalt tennis courts and accessories 6. Site restoration The Drawings and Specifications under which work is to be done are on file and may be examined at the Purchasing Department, City of Southfield, 26000 Evergreen Road, Southfield, Michigan. Drawings and Specifications may be obtained on July 12, 2010, 1pm, electronically at Builders Exchange, Dodge, or Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network (MITN) or at the Purchasing Department, 26000 Evergreen Road, Southfield, Michigan. A portion of this project is funded by storm water grant funds under the Rouge River National Wet Weather Demonstration Project; the project will be subject to the conditions of the Grant. There is a Minority (MBE) and Women (WBE) contractor’s participation grant requirement of 30% on this construction project. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on July 21 2010, 10:00 am at the site. The meeting will be held at the Beech Woods Golf Course Facility Pro Shop located at 22202 Beech Road (east off Beech Road, west of Telegraph Road and north of 8 Mile Road), City of Southfield 48033 A certified check, cash or surety bid bond payable to the City of Southfield for a sum not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the Proposal shall be required with each Proposal. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance, labor and material, and maintenance and guarantee bonds in the amount of 100% of the project. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities in the proposals. No bids may be withdrawn after the above date and time for receiving bids for a period of ninety (90) days.
