Summary of Specifications:
This request for proposals covers contract labor and service for electrical work in the City of Southfield. The City's Facilities Maintenance Department maintains the physical plant in 54 buildings and structures (865,804 square feet total). The City is looking for an Electrical Contractor who has a minimum of five (5) years contract experience and who has sufficient permanent staff to provide maintenance, emergency repairs, and new construction as the needs of the City dictate. Experience with municipal or educational facilities is preferred. The Contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, tools, and services required by the manager of Facilities Maintenance or his/her designate to complete the work as service and emergency work as needed and subject to the conditions of the specifications as given to the Contractor. 

The successful company will be required to enter into a contract with and provide insurance acceptable to the City of Southfield. Copies of these requirements have been included for your review. 

The Contractor selected must be willing to accept a 90-day probationary period. The City reserves the right to terminate the contract any time during the 90-day probationary period for any reason upon 24-hour notice. The contract will be in force for one (1) year following the award date of the contract by the City Council. 

The Contractor will be responsible for repair and maintenance projects related to the electrician's trade. The scope of this contract will be subject to upward or downward revision throughout the year as the needs of the City dictate.
