Summary of Specifications:
The City of Southfield is seeking qualification statements for the purpose of hiring a full service, on-call Environmental and Landscape Architectural consultant to meet ongoing needs. The successful consultant should have experience in the following areas: natural landscape systems planning and design (specifically native plantings), lakes, river/streams, streambank stabilization, ecology and ecological restoration, including invasive species control, urban fishery management, storm water BMPs, trails/boardwalks planning and design, grant writing and administration (in particular for Rouge River Wet Weather Demonstration Project), environmental graphics, innovative and sustainable site design and engineering, and significant planning and design experience for parks and public spaces, specifically including nature areas, picnic areas, public plazas, streetscapes, and active recreational parks (game court and athletic field design, etc.) The initial contract shall be for a two-year period with two optional one year extensions. Evaluations, studies, site analysis and recommendations, conceptual design development through final design and preparation of contract documents including plans and specifications, permitting, and construction oversight on an ongoing basis may be required.
