Summary of Specifications:
The Southfield Building Authority for the City of Southfield, Oakland County, Michigan, will receive bids at the office of the Purchasing Agent, 26000 Evergreen Road, P.O. Box 2055, Southfield, Michigan, 48037-2066 up to 10:30 a.m., Local Time on August 31, 2011, for the Roof Replacement/Repairs for Southfield Beech Woods Arena. The work includes but is not limited to; complete removal and replacement of the existing roof on the Former Cooling Tower Roof (approximately 550 square feet); installation of tapered insulation, roof membrane, base flashing and sheet metal accessories. The work shall also include repairs and coating of the Main and West Roofs (39,000 square feet). A certified check, case or surety bid bond payable to the Southfield Building Authority for a sum not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the Proposal shall be required with each Proposal. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 24, 2011 at 9:00 am Local Time at the Southfield Beech Woods Arena located at 22200 Beech Daly, Southfield, Michigan. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance, labor and material, and maintenance and guarantee bonds in the amount of 100% of the project. The Southfield Building Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities in the proposals. No bids may be withdrawn after the above date and time for receiving bids for a period of sixty (60) days. Proposals will not be received unless made on blanks furnished by the Purchasing Department and delivered to the Purchasing Agent on or before 10:30 am Local Time on August 31, 2011.
