BIDS DUE: September 8, 2010 AT 10:30 A.M., LOCAL TIME The City of Southfield, Oakland County, Michigan, will receive bids at the office of the City Clerk, 26000 Evergreen Road, P.O. Box 2055, Southfield, Michigan, 48037-2055 up to 10:30 a.m., and Local Time on September 8, 2010, for the Valley Woods Stormwater Improvement Project requiring the following work: 1. Mobilization 2. Demolition of existing concrete swale 3. Removal of existing asphalt sidewalk 4. Removal of existing culvert 5. Removal of existing storm sewer 6. Excavation of pools 7. Installation of pervious paver sidewalk 8. Installation of concrete steps 9. Installation of new culvert 10. Installation of rip rap 11. Site restoration The Drawings and Specifications under which work is to be done are on file and may be examined at the Purchasing Department, City of Southfield, 26000 Evergreen Road, Southfield, Michigan, (248) 796-5250. Project questions can be directed to Ms. Merrie Carlock at mcarlock@cityofsouthfield.com until 12:00pm on September 1, 2010. Drawings and Specifications may be obtained on August 19th, 2010, 1pm, electronically at Builders Exchange, Dodge, or Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network (MITN) or at the Purchasing Department, 26000 Evergreen Road, Southfield, Michigan. A portion of this project is funded by storm water grant funds under the Rouge River National Wet Weather Demonstration Project; the project will be subject to the conditions of the Grant. There is a Minority (MBE) contractor’s participation grant requirement of 3% and a Women (WBE) contractor’s participation grant requirement of 5% for this construction project. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on August 30, 2010, 10:30 am at the site. The meeting will be held at the site located at the intersection of Civic Center Drive and the Middle Rouge River, just east of Telegraph (northeast corner). A certified check, cash or surety bid bond payable to the City of Southfield for a sum not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the Proposal shall be required with each Proposal. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance, labor and material, and maintenance and guarantee bonds in the amount of 100% of the project. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities in the proposals. No bids may be withdrawn after the above date and time for receiving bids for a period of ninety (90) days.
