The City of Taylor is requesting bids for horizontal drill machine for the for the Taylor Water Department. The horizontal direction drill machine and its required accessories is being purchased to assist with installing new water service lines and replacement of out dated water service lines. The specifications listed below represent the minimum requirements for this equipment:

Diesel Fueled
Engine of 2500 RPM (Maximum)
Gross Horse power of 45 HP (Minimum)
Thrust Rod 7500 Lbs. (Minimum)
Pullback Rod 7500 Lbs. (Minimum)
Bore Diameter of 2.50 Inches (Minimum)
Emissions Rating of Stage Four
Operating Angle (fore, aft, left, and right) of 20 Degrees (Minimum)
Bending Radius of 100 Foot (Maximum)
Decibel level encountered by Drill Machine Operator 100 Db (Maximum)
Digital Controls (2 joy stick preferred)
Drill rods to be 6-foot in length (Minimum)
Drill Machine and rods cumulatively shall support a 200 FLT operation (Minimum)
Required Accessories:
Compatible Trailer to transport the machine (10 Ton minimum) with standard DPW equipment
Compatible drill mixing system with a capacity of 300 US Gallons (Minimum)
Mixing System Equipment shall have a gross of 5 HP (minimum)
Compatible Digital Locating Equipment
