Description of Project:
The City of Milan is seeking a qualified underground/excavation contractor. The City will choose one contractor to install up to three (3) fire hydrants annually for the next three years at various locations within the city limits; and to perform all other work and services incidental to the removal and replacement of existing fire hydrants. Please provide unit pricing for incidental work and services; sidewalk, curb and pavement removal and replacement, margin restoration, traffic control etc... Fire Hydrant installations will adhere to ANSI/AWWA C 502-18, Dry Barrel Fire Hydrants installation standards. Fire hydrants (EJ 5BR250) complete with barrel, stem and foot valve will be provided by the City of Milan. Ductile iron stubs cut to length will be provided by the contractor. Pipe reducers (6” to 4”) may be required, provided by the contractor. Installation will require the use of Mega Lugs and Thrust Blocks. Removed hydrants will be salvaged and delivered to the DPW Yard, 455 Squires Dr, unless otherwise directed by the Public Works Director.
