The purpose of this RFQ is to select a Consultant to assist the City of Milan with its Wilson Park Development Project. The City of Milan recently received a grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) Spark program in the sum of $954,500. The grant funds include an allocation of $850,000 to construct the improvements within the park with the balance of $104,500 being allocated to pay for the design and construction engineering services. The City also received a separate $20,000 grant to offset the design and construction engineering expenses and a $10,000 grant for the shade structure over the splash pad. The Consultant will work with the City of Milan staff and community partners to complete all elements of the scope of service within the parameters of the established budget and timeline.
The Consultant selection will be determined by a firm’s qualifications to provide the services required, relevant experience, and their ability to provide work products on time and within budget. The Consultant will be expected to design the park improvements as listed in the project award, provide an estimated opinion of construction cost, and complete the construction engineering phase within the current estimated budget of $984,500.
