Summary of Specifications:
The work DWS-898, Springwells and Northeast Water Treatment Plants Removal and Disposal Services includes but is not limited to mobilizing, removing, loading, transporting, and disposing sludge from the plants on an as-needed basis. The sludge to be removed is located in the sedimentation basins, flocculator chambers and associated channels, approximately 25 feet deep below grade concrete tanks that are OSHA permit-required confined spaces. The sludge is a by-product of the water treatment process that contains aluminum sulfate (alum).
