RFP-CC-15-044 - Courtroom Technology Upgrade

Genesee County is distributing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to identify organizations and obtain proposals for the design, installation and support of courtroom technology for the one double jury courtroom in the Genesee County Circuit Court in Flint, Michigan. The County seeks a qualified entity that can design and implement a complete suite of technology to support effective and efficient courtroom operations. The goal is to create a modern courtroom with the technology needed to facilitate the efficient and effective delivery of Justice. The courtroom will be configured with the technology necessary to support the functions performed. In addition, the design and technology selected should be capable of expansion and enhancement to support additional capacity and changes in technology. Court staff will be trained to support and operate the equipment and support will be in place to ensure ongoing maintenance and repair of installed hardware and software. The size of the courtroom and the manner in which trial counsel presents evidence contributes to the necessity to upgrade courtroom technology. Trials often include the presentation of visual exhibits, recorded statements and reference to both throughout the proceedings. The witness box is located in such a way to make observation of the witness difficult or impossible for all of the necessary parties. This is particularly true, when the courtroom is utilized by its maximum number of litigants, attorneys and jurors.
