Lansing Community College (LCC) is seeking competitive proposals from qualified vendors to fully implement an Online Orientation Platform for The College’s incoming student body.
Lansing Community College is seeking a comprehensive new student orientation online platform that will assist the College in providing incoming students with an enhanced understanding of the College, including information regarding academic programs, policies, and available resources/support services. This robust online platform would include video, audio, and other interactive learning modules that are in line with current college best practices for new students. A key component to this will be to have a platform that connects with the variety of student types at Lansing Community College and directs them to content that is tailored to their experiences to provide a sense of belonging and shared experience that emphasizes Lansing Community College’s focus on success for both traditional and non-traditional students.
The anticipated online platform would reach incoming students prior to their scholastic arrival and allow them to begin their experience with Lansing Community College prior to or in lieu of attending in-person orientation. Some of the concepts the College desires include virtual walking tours of the various campuses, interactive quizzes, and video content filmed on campus featuring Lansing Community College-focused topics and individuals. The platform must be ADA compliant and have current training modules on key topics such as Title IX, FERPA, Clery Act, and other federal laws and regulations.
Additionally, The College is seeking the ability to use modern data-gathering tools to determine student engagement and performance within individual modules. In order to best fulfill the mission of The College, Student Affairs must be able to analyze and respond to incoming student data as quickly as possible to provide nimble, effective guidance for all students joining the Lansing Community College body.
