SCOPE OF WORK
Macomb County and its partners, the City of Sterling Heights and the City of Warren,
have been awarded a multi-community planning assistance grant to aid in the
development of an official Iron Belle Trail Route which will begin to close the final gap in
around the MDOT Van Dyke Regional Corridor in Macomb County.
This trail routing and feasibility study will examine the potential alignments for the Iron
Belle Trail from the City of Center Line Northern Boundary (11 Mile Road) through the
cities of Warren and Sterling Heights to Freedom Hill County Park (Located on
Metropolitan Parkway and adjacent to Freedom Trail and the Clinton River Trail). The
purpose of this project is to collaboratively develop a trail route through both
communities which will close the southern Macomb County gap in the Iron Belle Trail
Network and will safely link the greatest number of local community and county asset
