RFP 18-0006 - Workforce Development College Tour Transportation and Services

Oakland Schools is requesting proposals to provide College Tour and Transportation Services for the Michigan Works! JobLink Service Center Youth Program. Services will be provided during Spring Break which in the State of Michigan has been designated on or about the first week of April 2018. The College Tour and Transportation Services will be needed for approximately forty four (44) students between the ages of fifteen (15) to eighteen (18) and for six (6) Staff members. The length of the college tour is approximately seven (7) days and six (6) nights.
 
The Michigan Works! JobLink Service Center Youth Program serves students with multiple barriers from the local school districts. Each year youth in the program have the opportunity to participate in a college tour experience that is offered during Spring Break. During the weekly meetings, Michigan Works! JobLink Service Center staff assist students in planning for college, submitting college applications, and applying for financial aid and scholarships. Considering students in the Youth Program qualify for high levels of financial aid, many students who have aspired to attend an out-of-state college have been able to do so with the assistance of the Michigan Works! JobLink Service Center team members. This college tour experience motivates students to attain higher education.
 
Michigan Works! JobLink Service Center along with the awarded Contractor will host a joint meeting with parents and students to discuss the tour itinerary, behavior requirements, packing suggestions and the like to ensure the college tour is a successful venture.
