A National Historic Landmark, Meadow Brook Hall is a museum, cultural center, wedding and events venue. Built in 1929, Meadow Brook represents one of the finest examples of Tudor-revival architecture in America, and is especially renowned for its superb craftsmanship, architectural detailing and grand scale. From exquisite décor to practical details, the 88,000-square foot mansion is a National treasure. With approximately 17,500 square feet of flagstone patio terraces in need of repair, we are requesting quotes to repair and/or replace these flagstone patio terraces. We want to keep as much of the existing as possible, and have the new flagstones match existing as closely as possible. The terraces are broken up into four areas. We are requesting pricing for full replacement of each area including concrete subbase, stone pavers, grout and caulk. Due to the fact the pavers are in different states of disrepair. We will also request unit pricing for replacing pavers and grout while reusing the subbase, replacing pavers with a new subbase and grout, and unit pricing for regrouting and caulking only. This way we can salvage as much of the existing as possible, keeping the historic charm intact. Additionally, there are two areas in need of waterproofing that would require the removal of a patio section, excavate to footings, replace existing waterproofing with Platon on the exterior walls, replace drain tile, install new cleanout, backfill and install new patio. Please see drawings for details.
