The village has been contacted by a village property owner that has requested an 8” service tap be installed to his property. The location of this work is on the Northern side of the village, off of the west side of M-25. The water main to be tapped is also located on the west side of M-25, and was installed in the late 1990’s and is 12” C-900 plastic pipe. The contractor will need to take extra precaution during this project, not only due to the material construction of the water main to be tapped, but also note there is no other water main loop to distribute water around this location if the main is broken during this procedure. This main is the only supply line to the Northern section of our village, as well as it is the only transition main which services our wholesale customers to the North. Considering the location of the tap, there should be minimal utilities to work around, and all work should be able to be done from the property side of the R.O.W. allowing for minimal or no needs for traffic control.
