The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to obtain bids from qualified CONTRACTORS to provide the labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform tree and brush removal services and legally dispose of all removed materials. Tree and brush removal is needed for several projects near the cities of Dexter and Chelsea, Michigan.
Note that some of the work is within the MDOT Rail Right of Way (operated by Amtrak), which has specific requirements for that portion of the project. Furthermore, two bid sheets are provided, one for work within the vicinity of the railroad and one for non-railroad work. The County may select one or more CONTRACTORS to best provide the required services.
The work and timeline is driven by environmental regulations surrounding the Indiana Bat, Northern Long-eared Bat, and Oak Wilt disease. OWNER shall have the clearing limits marked in the field prior to beginning work. Note that stumps removal may not be required (details in the Specifications).
All requirements and specifications as described in the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) “2012 Standard Specifications for Construction” and “MDOT Road and Bridge Standard Plans”, or as adopted by the Michigan Department of Transportation, shall be adhered to unless otherwise stated in the proposal.
Bidders must complete the Experience and Qualifications section of this RFP. Based on the response to this RFP, including, experience, ability, financial standing, and bid prices submitted, the County may select one or more CONTRACTORS to best provide the required services.
