RFB-130093 - Clear Glass Beads (Spheres)

Summary of Specifications:
INTRODUCTION: Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit Bids to provide reflective clear glass beads (spheres) for airfield marking paints on an “as needed” basis for the Detroit Metro and Willow Run Airports (Airports). GENERAL INFORMATION: The Airport Authority currently receives reflective glass beads from Swarco Industries. Typical order amounts for the year total approximately 88,000 lbs. SPECIFICATIONS: The successful Bidder (Contractor) will be required to provide Type TTB 1325D Type IV-B, Gradation B clear glass beads (spheres) per FAA specifications outlined in AC 150/5340 – 1K for fast dry, waterborne runway marking paints for the term of the resulting agreement. Glass must be direct meltdown, no recycled glass. The reflective glass beads are to be manufactured in accordance with to the specifications outlined in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circular (AC) 150/5340 – 1K.
