RFB-160028 - Hangar Bay Door Repair Services

Summary of Specifications:
Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit Bids to provide preventative and corrective maintenance services on the hangar bay doors at Willow Run Airport. 

GENERAL INFORMATION: The (8) eight doors at hangar 1 are the original doors from 1942 which were manufactured by Byrne Door Co. The door sizes are approximately 120’ wide by 40’ high. There are also two (2) pedestrian (man) doors in each hangar bay door totaling 16 pedestrian doors. There is one (1) overhead door in each bay door that will not be part of the hangar door contract. Only the pedestrian doors are to be included in this contract agreement. 

The hangar doors have had an annual preventative maintenance program for at least the past 15 years to ensure they operate in a safe and efficient manner and to prevent any possible malfunctions so there is no disruption to the operations of several tenants at the hangar. The preventative maintenance program has been extremely successful since there has been only a few times that a door is out of service for needed repairs. The doors are currently under contract which is expected to expire in August of 2016.
