Summary of Specifications:
Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit Bids for providing landside road and surface parking lot rehabilitation and construction related services for various bituminous and Portland cement concrete pavement project areas located at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Willow Run Airport (YIP). The Airport Authority has identified landside road and surface parking lot pavement project areas at DTW and YIP. These project areas are exhibiting signs of surface distress and have deteriorated to the point where they are not providing a satisfactory riding/parking surface for Airport users, tenants and employees. Standard maintenance repairs are no longer appropriate and the Airport Authority intends to address and complete rehabilitation of these project areas including the possibility of other project areas assigned based on condition, severity of deterioration and assessment of operational impact as part of a comprehensive maintenance repair program. The proposed projects identified are anticipated to be completed over four (4) consecutive construction seasons. The scope of the project areas may include, but are not limited to: the removal and replacement of landside roads and surface parking lots pavement, including shoulders, curb & gutter and base material; installation of new Portland cement concrete pavement; asphalt mill and overlays including joint rehabilitation; replacement of existing utilities (storm sewer, underdrain and electrical); improvements to existing utilities, signage and pavement markings. Large scale lighting replacement or the addition of new overhead lights is not anticipated for any of the projects contained in the RFB.
