Specifications include, but are not limited to: Beavertail: The Beavertail planting unit is an approximately 180-acre planting unit located within the Ryan fire scar of 2000. The unit was previously planted in the spring of 2015 with very low survival rates. Little to no scarification of the residual shrubs and grasses is expected to remain from the fire scar. Moderate amounts of brush and grass are expected within the unit(s). 57,300 PP seedlings will be planted within the unit. Seedlings will be planted to a 12’x12’ spacing, as well as spaced off any surviving seedlings from the 2015 plant or any advanced regeneration. 12”x12” scalping will be required. The Forest Officer will require seedlings to be planted on the NW side of any stumps or coarse woody debris (CWD) where available. Planting on the NW side of any stump or CWD will take priority over spacing. Wallace Cramer: The Wallace Cramer planting unit was harvested by the Wallace Cramer timber sale in the summer/fall of 2018. The post-harvest stand consists of a in overstory averaging 50-60' spacing with little to no advanced regeneration. Any scarification of the residual grasses that occurred during harvest has since been reseeded. Low amounts of brush and slash are expected within the unit(s). 29,7000 PP seedlings will be planted to a 12’x12’ spacing outside of the dripline of the residual overstory. 12” x 12” scalping will be required.
