The Big Sky Fire Department (“Owner”) invites Proposals from interested Firms to provide the Materials Testing & Inspection Services ("MTI”, “Contractor", “Firm” or “Team”). The Owner is conducting a proposal-based selection process to retain a Firm for the Fire Station No. 3 Project (the “Project”) located at 220 Inspiration Point Road in Big Sky, MT. The Owner reserves the right to award the Project based on best overall value.
The Project will consist of construction of a new 10,273 SF Fire Station No.3. This two-story structure that will be comprised of three double-loaded, drive-through bays, three sleeping quarters, three three-quarter bathrooms, two toilet rooms, study, offices, kitchen, dining, dayroom, fitness room, and decontamination area. Fire mitigation strategies played a major role in selecting the building materials and systems, and in the design of the landscape. Stone, heavy timber, fire treated wood, and standing seam metal roofing have been selected for their fire resistance and material longevity. Mechanical and ventilation systems were designed to resist fire and ember intrusion.
It is the intention of the Owner to retain a qualified materials testing and inspection agency to provide testing and inspections required by or referenced in the Project Documents.
