Perform miscellaneous IS Broadband Services for terminations and repair services for the term of the contract. The City intends to award multiple contracts for this service. CABLES 3.1 Types and Classes of Cables - all classes of cable shall be substantially constructed reels, plainly marked as to size, type, and insulation identification. 3.2 Only 1 length of cable shall be shipped on each reel. 3.3 All cables must be new. 3.4 Damaged cable or repairs on damaged cable will not be permitted. 3.5 Fiber Locate Cable. 3.5.1 Fiber Locate Cable shall be a new single conductor #14 AWG type THHN 600- volt, stranded copper. 3.5.1.1 The insulation jacket color shall be orange. 3.5.2 UL 44 and UL 854, ICEA S-95-658/NEMA WC-70, C (UL) US Federal spec. A-A59544. 3.5.3 Fiber Locate Cable is incidental to the conduits installed and will not be paid for separately. 3.6 Single Mode Fiber Cable. 3.6.1 All Single-Mode Fiber Cable fiber shall be single-mode conforming to ITU-T G652. D. 3.6.2 Single-Mode Fiber Cable shall conform to ANSI/ICEA S-87-640 Standard for Optical Fiber Outside Plant Communications Cable. 3.6.3 Cable type shall be non-armored, all Dielectric suitable for lashed aerial and duct installation. Installation. 3.7.1 Fiber Locate Cable - Fiber Locate Cable shall be installed in the orange no stripe conduit within the Main Line Conduit Group (MLCG), or within any designated 2” 3” or 4” fiber conduit as indicated on the plans. 3.7.2 Each locate cable shall be terminated at the conductor terminals on the insulated, isolated Ground Bar affixed to the inside of the pull box. 3.7.3 Single-Mode Fiber Cables shall be installed in such a manner and by such methods ensuring against harmful stretching of the optical fiber, injury to the jacket, damage to the outer protective covering of the cable, or cable crushing.
