Portable Water Filtration System
This is a Sources Sought announcement for acquisition planning purposes and no formal solicitation for this requirement exists at this time. All businesses, regardless of size; capable of providing these services are invited to respond to this announcement and submit a capability statement for consideration. Capability statements received will be reviewed to determine a firm's previous experience performing similar work. The capability statements will be reviewed and used to determine an appropriate procurement strategy, in particular, whether a small business set-aside is warranted or an alternate procurement strategy. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice or otherwise pay for information solicited.
Proposed Project:
The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation), Lower Colorado Region has a requirement to purchase a portable 50-cicron water filtration system.
Salient Characteristics are as follows:
1. One, diesel driven pump trailer mounted. Must be able to self-prime 28 feet of dry intake line/pipe, discharge of at least 2400gallons per minute (gpm), capable of continuous run time of at least 16 hours, and maintain a maximum working pressure of at least 135 pounds per square inch (psi). The engine must have an alternator or other accessory to power an Ultraviolet reactor.
2. Self-contained filtration system, skid or trailer mounted, capable of filtration to 50 microns. Filter(s) must be constructed of stainless steel with a maximum operating temperature of 175°F, maximum 150 psi operating pressure. Filter flush target between 10 to 15 seconds with a maximum of 20 seconds. Filter system must have a mechanical, simple self-cleaning system with few moving parts, i.e., no pistons and/or limit switches. Filters must have low maintenance requirements, able to perform maintenance within 6 hours.
3. Ultraviolet reactor must be constructed of stainless steel with automatic wiping system and able to be powered from the diesel motor. The reactor must have a standalone monitoring system with dose pacing capability and variable lamp power.
The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 339999, All Other Miscellaneous Manufacturing with a corresponding small business size standard of 550 Employees. If you feel there is an alternate NAICS Code for this requirement, you may submit that information.
